Setup — Echo & Echo Dot (step-by-step)
- Plug in your Echo device. Wait for the orange setup light.
- Open the Alexa app on your iPhone or Android device (sign in with Amazon account).
- In the app: More → Add Device → choose Echo model and follow prompts.
- When prompted, connect to the device's temporary Wi-Fi network then select your home Wi-Fi and enter the password.
- Complete any software updates and test by saying the wake word: “Alexa”.
Echo Show setup
- Plug in Echo Show and follow on-screen setup wizard.
- Connect to Wi-Fi, sign in, allow permissions and check for display updates.
Troubleshooting during setup
If your device does not show the orange light or the Alexa app cannot find the device, restart your router and the Echo device, and then try the setup again. Call +1 (833) 351-0302 for guided assistance.
